Designed in-line with the UK's national curriculums, our projects offer the perfect solution for any upper primary or lower secondary school wishing to put on a musical theatre performance. Our team have developed a format comprising a step-by-step online video tool kit that enables any school to put on one of our shows all by themselves.
Through a series of engaging ‘how-to’ videos with Charades Musicals music/drama specialists leading classroom singing and drama workshops from the projection screen, the resource will simultaneously take 3 classes on a learning journey. This learning journey is divided into two main sections - “In the Classroom” and “On the Stage”.
Our first show to be available in this format, The Mould that Changed the World, was a 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival sell-out. Our learning resource, designed for the latter stages of Primary School (children aged 9-11 / KS2), comprises over 250 interactive learning videos, associated classroom activities and teachers notes.

OUR TRACK RECORD
We at Charades have 10 years of experience staging school musicals, working predominantly with 9-11 year olds from primary schools across Scotland. To date Charades Theatre Company has directed and staged about 150 performances.
It has long been our ambition to capture our songs and ideas in video format so that schools across the UK and beyond can perform our musicals - our van can only take us so far, and big projects like we offer are not affordable to schools every year. So our aim for this website is to provide an easy-to-use and comprehensive resource that will enable schools to prepare and perform one of our musicals without the need for visiting drama specialists.
